The concept of the subject originates in the philosophy of Rene Descartes. Since the XVII century, European thought has been structured by the subject-object disposition, which determines the entire perception of the European person.
What is a person? Is man the pinnacle of evolution? The creator of the world? Or the intersection point of countless streams of willing production? Nondeterministic, contingent, schizophrenic?
We want certainty, we want affirmation, we are afraid of groundlessness. Therefore, we choose ourselves as the soil, the symbolic position of the imperious and assertive subject. We choose the chamomile field, the trunk of the flowering tree of the power of holistic subjectivity. Rest in peace, man.
